Tipsworked for me)
- stay calm
- forget this is a fake exam. Try to make it as real as possible.
- speak slowly
- use lots of body language
- make open questions, don't forget the famous : tell me more about it. If you do that the SP will tell you almost everything.
- Dont forget to ask the side of the pain. Usually they say I have pain in my legs. And you are suppose to ask which side.
- Sometimes the SP is not draped!!!! and you have to drape him.
- Dont forget to use the leg extensor
- See the equipments before (use the gloves, the lamps and everything)
- the sps dont smile, do not get nervous if the sp look at you as if you were an ET.
- stop typing you PN when the staff say so. You dont want to get marked.
- the first thing you write in your pn is the diagnose, then the work up, then the pe and then the history.
- dont be late, dont come too early
- stay in a hotel near the test center, I stayed at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson- Airport South. Very near
- dont forget to print your documents
- wear a tie
- brush your tooth
- shave
- dont need to bring food
- dont forget your stethoscope and your white coat
- usually it is possible to practice with someone that you can meet at your hotel. Just look around for someone with the FA CS book.
- if you dont know what to say, at least you can smile and summarize your findings. You can also give very broad diagnosis, as infectious or metabolic disturbances....
and that's it
