Unhappy Is Philadelphia centre the toughest for CS?

Hey everyone,

I came to my knowledge that the philadelphia centre for the CS exam is the toughest of the lot, for IMGs specially ! Is that bit true? Can anyone support or refute this claim??

I am scheduled to take my exam there in feb 2014 and I am seriously scared after hearing this

Other centres are all booked till march or later and my CS eligibility expires on 2nd april so I need to know earliest.

Can anyone guide me or share experiences? Please ?

Cheers !

I don't think there should be a difference in the difficulty level of test at different test centres. It most probably is a myth. Just think about it logically, why would the USMLE make the exam difficult at a particular test centre? they don't like philly or what? I have my exam scheduled in march at los angeles. Don't pay attention to these myths. Just book a spot for urself and take the test. Bonne chance

Hey Neelmed, thank you for the response. Even I am not the superstitious type! All my friend told me who gave it in chicago and passed said their scoring is tough nd all. I have four months to prep and there isnt a single margin for error so yeah I have to be a 150% sure its all good. I hope it is cause all other centres for my date are booked

All the best for your exam!

Thanx mate. And you stop worrying about these rumours. All the centres are the same. USMLE is one of the most fair exams i have ever faced. So just focus on your preparation and rock it. Good luck!

Hey again !! I had to switch to Chicago, I know it was a confusing choice to make but a friend gave the exam there, he knew his way around the city and the centre so I switched to chicago instead. Im just gonna go with my gut now and give it my best !

While people will always claim that these are just rumours, in my personal (unfortunate) experience i wish i had paid more attention to this detail. The exam is subjective and alot rides on your luck that day, sadly.

Thank You Doc13586, I appreciate your response. It is indeed all based on luck. But as they say luck favors the prepared
