Listening I need your realistic opinion, my mistakes!!!

Hello guys Im an IMG from colombia, this is my 2nd time doing the exam and I feel worst then the first time.

My mistakes;

1. I did not had time to do a complete PE in 5 cases (5/12), I run out of time so I just explored the chief complaint.
2. Did not counseled in 3 cases at least.
3. I did not finished my PE part of the PN, I just summarized the chief complaint PE in 7 cases.
4. one case I forgot to explored CV , the laying down part, so I made the patient lay down again.
5. One of the patient didn't understand me well in a couple of questions so I had to repeat them several times.

Things I did:
1. I Present my self, with name and position.
2. I did a good interrogation about chief complaint
3. I concluded in all cases
4. I wrote al the DD's and all Lab test.
5. I wrote a good PN on the PI.
6. I washed my hands and help them laying down, draped them etc...

So guys regarding your experience and scoring, how bad is just to do a focus PE on the chief complaint only, as well writing the PE part of the PN???
Please give me you serious opinion,
Thank you very much

Hi,

I think you have 2 problems:
1 -"Did not counseled in 3 cases at least."
and
2- "I did not finished my PE part of the PN, I just summarized the chief complaint PE in 7 cases."

First , I would say that forgetting to counsel 3 cases and not summarizing 5 cases can harm your cis, so try to remember if the other parts of cis were done correctly. How was your rapport with the SP? Did you guys connect? did you drape correctly? Did you ask for permission? If your answer is yes, I think you did fine.

Second, the fact that you didn't write the PE is a big deal. In how many cases have you not finished PE on the PN? It will harm your ICE . PE is at least 25% of your ICE. Try to remember the cases and see if you asked the right questions and if your work up and Dx were correct. Anyway I think that at least you did the PE so I think that might compensate your lack of PE on your PN.

After Step 2cs, I was almost certain that I have flunked. But I haven't. So just wait and see. I think you will pass.

Thank you very much for you opinion Corinthiano, at this moment in my wait time it really helps.

I was freak out at the moment of the 5 min announcement in which I haven't started the PE, so I had to secure the PE of the chief complaint, This was at least in 4 cases more or less, I don't remember well, this affected me in the PN, I cant lie so I just wrote the VS a small general and the chief complaint description.

Im very worried about my performance since is my second time and I feel worst then the first attempt.

I counseled well in all cases and answered well the challenging questions but I didn't summarize. What does it really needs to fail the ICE part, I;m going crazy.
Thank you very much

ICE is all about : PN and specific PE.
You don't have to do a full PE, just have to do the specific one.
According to what you have just said, I think you did the specific PE and wrote that in all cases. So I guess it's ok.

You really don't have to do a full PE, for example, in my 12 cases I remember having done just 3 abdomen examination. But I passed with borderline mark in ICE.
