Default How to do Murphy's sign although you can't repeat painful maneuvers?

Hello,

How to do Murphy's sign although you can't repeat painful maneuvers?

I mean of someone is having cholecystitis, he will have RUQ tenderness

so I will touch it for the first time

then I will touch it again to do murphy's sign

is not that considered repeating painful maneuver?

What should be done?

no it's not

in abd exam you have to do all exams even if it causes pain, it's different from other exams

just tell the pt:" I'm sorry that i caused you pain, but I'll have to finish my exam in order to make a correct diagnosis, please bear with me"
