Default Kaplan cs course

I did this course. though I didn't took the real CS exam yet but it really helped me a lot . I didn't know anything about the exam . It gave me a brief idea. but I think this course will help you after finishing the first aid and if your typing speed is high because their 4th day is like real exam( 12 patient simulation exam).I didn't know that so it was a great mistake .I will suggest to take the course 2-3 months before the Exam.

It will, these guys wouldn't make any money if their courses were bad. Are you attending the one in Newark?

Yes. At least we will get some real exam experience and practice.

When are you taking your exam? Could you send a private message to me? I don't know how to use that function in these forums

Hello! Urgent help needed!
I need to decide between the live prep and the online course.
Besides the obvious differences of being there and being at home, can anybody give some input here?
This will be my second attempt, the first time I passed SEP, failed CIS by a bit, and failed ICE big time with a star in the bottom left.
I can understand what to do about CIS, but I was shocked and I have no idea why failed ICE, my patient notes didn't look worse than in the official website's samples. Maybe nowadays it takes perfect to pass this exam.
I guess I just need to stop stressing about being in a far away city by myself for a month.

Thank you very much

I'm about to finish Kaplan's Live Prep for CS and I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND you to take it. I've learned so much stuff about SP encounters and they actually teach you HOW the USMLE wants their pt notes written for this exam. It is expensive indeed, but is much more expensive to have to pay a second or third time for the CS exam.

Also, you don't have to worry anything about getting prior practice before the course starts, its actually better that way, since they will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. I swear I am so glad I shelled out the cash for this course, I do not regret it the least bit.

I will take the course right before the exam. That used to be the way to go but nowadays it seems more IMGs recommend taking it a few weeks before the exam, to practice more. Anyway, let's hope for the best.

Probably is a good idea to go through CS live prep with Kaplan . I failed the ICE ( which I did not expect ) the other 2 parts were OK . I still do not know where are the mistakes .

I will take the course next month, the more I prepare for the exam the more I realize this: they say "be yourself, do what you'd do in any of your real patient encounters" Wrong! don't do that!, this exam is very precise about what it wants.
At least in my country people are largely disappointed of doctors, but they still give us a little of their trust in an office visit. In the exam the actors portrayed distrust and in some cases even contempt towards doctors. I wasn't prepared for that.

I'm going to Chicago, mainly because I will take the exam soon after, it was Chicago or LA for that matter. I just downloaded Skype, I will send you a private message as soon as I get my computer back. This tiny cellphone screen is hard to navigate

I have yet to choose the date and the city, but I was definitely thinking of Chicago, as I did an externship there recently.

Do you know if Kaplan helps you with housing placement? I was planning to practice some FA one month before taking the course.

I'm not too sure about that, but I think there will be a lot of housing options considering it's downtown Chicago.
