Maybe you're doing everything. The instruction is to do a focused history and a focused physcical exam. Try to ask only questions that are relevant to the chief complaint. Do just the PE warranted by the case and keep it as brief as possible avoiding too much detail.

Thumbs Up

dont do a very thorough P/E all the time. Ask releveant q's & perform relevant exam. Remember give lat 2-3 mins for closure. That's where you'll get a lot credit. Dont run out of time just b/c u cudn't finish Physical. Be quick & efficient! all the best.

1) knock on a door, enter, smile, introduce yrself and shake hands!
2) ask about chief complaint and go on from there as much as you can
3) ask every time: PMH, PSH, meds, allergies, social and family
4) i used gloves every time because there is no time for washing hands,
5) everybody gets heart/lungs/abdominal exam + extra if thats the case.
6) must counsel and conclude. that is crucial. few sentences is enough. there will always be sg to counsel about that 's why you gotta ask meds, social family history.

condensate condensate as much as you can! and keep in mind #6 brings most points!
