Default No closure --> fail?

Is it true that if you do everything on a case (all the Qs, good physical exam) but you don't have time to close you fail that case?

Don't put yourself in that position, train yourself to finish in 12-13 min, when you hear the bell, you should be in the exam, if not, move to exam and NEVER leave the room without closure.
The exam is about giving each part its deserved part, the most important factor that can cause shortage of time is giving too much time on history, be too much focused and don't let your goal to be "finishing the first aid checklist", because this will cause you too much time.
I never ran out of time and finished all the cases 2-3 min ahead of time, forgot to ask many questions, forgot necessary examinations, forgot to summerize many times, forgot to counsel about some stuff end ended up with high performance. So just try to do as much as you can in the "time window" given for each part, I gave 6-7 min for history, 2-3 min for exam, 2-3 min for closure & counseling, and left the room 2 min ahead of time.

That is not true, I took CS a couple of months ago, I ran out of time 2 times and I passed.

So I think it is smart to follow the advice mentioned above, and during examination try to do it as good as possible.

Good luck!!

Same here, took it two months ago, ran out of time during PE in two cases (Althoug one I suspect to be a model case) which means: no closure at all and couldn't finish closure in about 2-3 more cases because I talked too much Nevertheless I passed. So no worries.

Thank yo so much for this information! I was actually thinking that it's very stupid to fail a case just because you didn't finish the closure or did not get to do any closure. What if you said some of the clinical impressions before?! And the patient encounter is not just closure: it's the questions, the empathy, the physical exam etc. Of course it's always better to try to touch a little by of everything and finish in time

But I asked just to make sure So, again, thank you for your input on this!
