Default CS Experience

I wanted to write to encourage other people out there. I practiced only from first Aid. I practiced with my sp through Skype. We went through all cases twice and timed. We practiced writing PN ourselves timed as well. I bought cse videos but it only helped me to see how to talk fast as well nice in order to complete case within time. I watched that demonstrator talking and performing skills and practice that, so 15 days subscription was enough for me. The key to success I found was to practice completing everything within 12-13mins because time flies in actual test. And what extra minute I got helped me in writing PN since my typing slow. Exam wasn't weird except clocks seemed to tick faster. I didn't ask all of the questions, just followed the patient's lead wherever he was taking me but of course asked my own review of systems questions after patient was done talking. I completed all encounter in time, all pn in time. Always knocked, addressed with patients' last names, washed hands, draped them, summarized, explained, counseled, asked and answered their questions. So my mistakes were
- in first case I used sanitizer because proctors said we could but it was a bad idea because my hands got so cold patient seemed upset by me touching her although I rubbed my hands and apologized profusely and ended exam faster. Next cases onward I washed hands with hot water that helped me immensely.
- in the same case I forgot to ask about hot and cold intolerance although it was relevant
- most cases I wrote only 2 dds and in some I wrote 3.
- I did very focused PE, missed eliciting a relevant sign in one case
- in one case I took all the ob/gyn hx but forgot to write it in pn!
That's all I remember. You can do it too it's very doable except you need to practice so well it becomes your reflex to do everything step by step. I passed it with higher performance in all three components and so can you! It took me 5 weeks to prep because I had limited time in the day to read and practice but you can do it in 3 weeks if you're able to take 6 hrs for it everyday.
