Many people fail the CS exam because they don't prepare it the way it should be done, but they go after reading some notes or advice from here and here and do the exam habhazardly. The correct way to do it is to train yourself the same way AMGs do. Although they don't use FA however it is essential for you as an IMG. But you should use the AMG instruction sheet which give you details what do to in the CS exam from knocking the door to the moment you leave the room.

It's not a good idea just to advertise your blogs (which I think they are useless) without answering the specific question asked.

Yes. After practice typing the patient note yourself even if you don't have an SP. It's very important to use the same official template available here
http://www.usmle.org/Examinations/st...appendixC.html
Make sure you give yourself less than 10 minutes to finish the whole note.

I also suggest positioning any pillow as if it's a patient, and then you can practice saying the questions aloud to it, imagining that it's a real patient. It may sound crazy, but this method is pretty common among CS takers who have no partners to practice with.

By the way, any family member - not necessarily someone who's preparing for the CS - can be your study partner and play the role of the patient. For example, my dad is going to be my patient throughout my prep!

You can start practicing the cases if you feel comfortable now, or you can give it one more readng. I think you have enough time.

Well, about the pillow, the effectiveness definitely won't be similar to a real partner, but it's much better than nothing at all. You can ask a question and pause for a few seconds as if a patient is replying, and then ask the next, and so on.

Good luck.
