Question SP wants sick leave for back pain!

If we have a patient with any joint pain epically back pain and he requests a note for the doctor for days off, do we say that I'll write a note so you can get days off OR ill rite a note so u can get assigned to light work?

hi, that's a bit tricky! i guess it depends on the severity, however i don't think that they will judge your answer very stringently, because even FA is not too clear on it. the thing with back ache is that if it isn't complicated by disc herniation or any severe neurologic probs, you don't want the px to have bed rest so even if you give him a note for days off work he should be advised not to lay in bed all that time, it is better to engage in light work whether at home or at work. i know i have not answered your question, because i really don't know the answer!

Sorry
