Question STD SP refuses to disclose to his spouse

If an SP discusses with u HIV or STD problem and says he doesn't want to disclose it to his wife that he has been cheating on her and he is still sexually active with his wife how will you counsel him?

If the pt suffer from STD, should be advised against non disclosure, but according to pt-doctor confidentiality, we could not discuss the condition with wife.

HIV is a reportable disease. Strongly encourage the patient the importance, in order for wife to receive treatment if needed. Start off with "I can understand how challenging this must be, but..."
