Guys... I need urgent help. I have scheduled my step 3 exam for the end of this month but I am not confident with my preparation. I might have to cancel it. I have applied for the match this year. What are the disadvantages if I give my exam with the new pattern? Does it effect me in anyway to match this year? How difficult is the exam going to be from November? I need visa sponsorship for my residency? Does it matter if I get my results in April with the new pattern? Please give me suggestions/answer. Thank u.

Hi docsin,

since you are not taking the old format, the disadvantages of taking the new format wouldnt matter unfortunately. Lot of program prefer that you have step 3 done or in the process. Even out side ERAS in the post soap period, the April step 3 result will be applicable. I knew of FMG who got positions out of the match as late as May-june before starting. If you have a step 3 done at the time, it can only help.
