Default urgent help

Guys... I need urgent help. I have scheduled my step 3 exam for the end of this month but I am not confident with my preparation. I might have to cancel it. I have applied for the match this year. What are the disadvantages if I give my exam with the new pattern? Does it effect me in anyway to match this year? How difficult is the exam going to be from November? I need visa sponsorship for my residency? Does it matter if I get my results in April with the new pattern? Please give me suggestions/answer. Thank u.

Hi! I was in the same situation, and I opted to postpone the exam. But then, I hadn't had time to prepare AT ALL.... like not even done a question.
I would suggest that if you are even reasonably prepared, then go ahead and take it. Step 1 and 2 scores are more important anyway.
If not, then better delay it. I was reading through the fsmb website, and as far as I can gather, it says that there will be a substantial score delay, but it also depends upon the number of applicants who'll take it during these months.

My only concern is if I give now and fail then I cannot do anything about it. It will only make my chances of matching less. You should either be fully prepared or not start at all. Then u know war to go for. I am done with 60 % preparation so not sure.

I understand what you're saying. I guess one needs to weigh the pros and cons. If you're done with a major chunk of prep, and your uwsa scores are decent, i'd say go ahead and take it. The pro would be that t'll be helpful in getting the visa etc this year. The con is that you might not do as well as you did in step 1/2 , but then again step 3 scores don't count for as much.
But if you feel that you might fail, then don't take a chance.
Ultimately, it comes down to how much your preparation is.
