Default Passed USMLE Step 3

Background
Currently PGY2
Passed Step 3 in 1st attempt (220)
USMLEworld- 65% correct out of 500 questions

Used
- USMLEworld- 500 questions
- CCS cases from USMLEworld- did once

Day 1
- All multiple choice questions
- Questions for 1st 3 blocks were easy
- Questions in 2 blocks were hard
- Questions in 2 blocks were so-so
- Overall of day 1 was ok, feeling pleased
- Finished 1 hour early

Day 2
- 4 blocks of multiple choice- were ok, about 1/2 were easy the other half were so so.
- CCS cases
- It kicked me out early in all cases
- If you do correct things and cover everything, it should take you right to the finished screen
- Finished 2.5 hours early

Overall
- Felt good coming out of the exam.
- Thought I passed but wasn't sure.
- I didn't need this exam so the pressure was off, which probably helped.
- In multiple choice I spent 40 sec max on questions, I either knew it or I didn't. I didn't stop to analyze it. Once I read the question once that was it.

Everyone can do this exam. It's very doable. If you are from a Family Med background just bring the pencil and spend less than 1 month on studying. other parts of medicine (example- psych, neurology) may find it a little challenging since they don't deal with drugs and xrays, ekgs as often. Study time for them maybe 3-6 months.

Once again questions are the key. The more questions you do the better off you'll be.

The scores were released on the 3rd wednesday. However I was not informed until thursday afternoon. Good thing I checked the website wednesday morning. So be aware of that.

Any questions please ask.

The result is released midnight of the 3rd Wednesday. I think you explained the exam in the best and the most simple way.
