Default Does CID form of ECFMG affect Step 3?

Hi!! I need to know if our CID form of ECFMG expires does it affect us from applying for Step 3? What about ECFMG certificate expiration? I have seen in many program which asks for ecfmg certificate stating " valid ecfmg certificate" what does that mean? I don't see any expiry date of Ecfmg certificate though!!
Answers will be appreciated! Thanx

Hi Destiny,
It doesn't matter if your CID form issued by ECFMG has expired....when applying for the Step 3 you will have to submit a new CID issued by the FSMB...once that form is processed you can proceed with scheduling your exam.

Regarding the ECFMG certificate-- once you have one you're good to go.

thanx for the reply. Well I know we have to submit new CID for step 3 but I was just confused if it is anyhow related to CID of ecfmg. But is there any specific time limit to do all your steps starting from your Step1?

The time frame depends on what state you plan to obtain a license in...some states have a time frame of 7 years, some 10, some none at all...but as a general rule you should try to complete all steps within 7 years

Hi,

I have a question about step 3 too. At any step during the registering, is our med school supposed to verify our graduate status (like they had to in previous steps) or is all that med school stuff finally behind us?
