Default some input regarding ccs pls!

ive been doing uworld's ccs and the cases keep ending once i entered the correct treatment. i have no time to key in monitoring till the patient improves, counsel or key in other important things like scheduling an appointment etc. and the consult keep on saying unnecessary EACH TIME. doesnt matter how perfect ive been doing it. is this a glitch on uworld's side? does this happen on the real exam too? so i need to make sure i key in everything before the correct treatment so that my patient doesnt get better too soon and would end the case? any input would be much appreciated!!!

If it's says unnecessary for consults then u probably didn't need to order them. U don't have to order a consult for every case. Only when necessary. Depends on the case some cases end early some give u enough time to manage a bit before it ends. But if they're ending earlier than expected then u probably doing something wrong like jumping to treatment before doing other necessary work ups etc. If u look at the readouts for the cases when u finish practising them u will see that there is a format. When u're presented with a case u should do emergency treatments for cases that require that. Then preliminary work ups first to figure out the diagnosis and even then u don't just jump to treatment u might have to do other stuffs like admit activity diet monitoring Iv access vitals etc then treatment if necessary. If u jumped to start giving treatment before doing those necessary preliminary work ups and the case ends u will loose points.

hey thanks for taking time to reply. the thing is, i even followed the EXACT sequence suggested in the readout and still it never comes out anything other than unnecessary consult at the time. and of course i don't ask for consult in every case. please tell me there's a problem with the system

then u're probably not doing anything wrong but i wouldn't know. ccs cases are built in such a way that the cases end at some point u, u can't continue managing the patient forever, if u order a consult they will always say u should continue with other necessary steps required even if its correct but the fact that u ordered the consult is what's most important. i don't think it says "unnecessary consult" , instead the consultant will tell you to do whatever u have to do etc. they will not tell you specifically what to do. in the terms of follow up, there are some cases that will require follow up some that don't ( i noticed this is more for ED cases because u are admitting them anyway so no follow up, ) for office cases that require follow up the cases usually end on the second or third visit, if they don't end that means u might not have ordered something important and the computer is waiting for you to order it. nothing is wrong with the system, what u get is what you are going to see on ur exam in my experience. so u should try to get used to it. the cases are timed so if it ends and u put in the correct treatment then u are still on a safe side. if u are over-ordering, the cases might end earlier before u had time to monitor in the ward etc. practise the cases more , don't keep advancing the clock to get results constantly. in-between u can do an interval f/up and minute physicals to see if the pt improves etc. they won't always improve immediately. what counts is that u ordered the CORRECT things in the CORRECT sequence.
