Default step 3 before applying for match

someone told me that studying for step 3 is not suitable before applying to residency as it depends on the usa clinical experience and that i am still in egypt my home country and i should think of step 3 when i come to usa and involve myself well in the american health system so i can then enter step 3 and pass
also he told me that if you get bad score in step 3 like 77 or so that would be against you so it is better to wait till before starting residency or even after
can someone advice me?

Yes, low score is against you .... If u get 90 or above its plus ..... Actually now a days lots of candidates applying with step 3 for residency .... and they prefer candidates with step 3 in comparison who don have ....... But Good score is a plus point ...... Before residency u need high score, after residency u need pass score .....

Default waiting answer for the second half of the question

is studying for step3 needs me to be involved in the american health system by practicing or even observing
i got step 1 and ck while i am in my country egypt
can i start to take step 3 from my home country or this is impossible while i am away from the american system?
is this exam academic like step 1 and ck or it needs someone who did observership or so....

step 3 has 2 part .... CCS and MCQ .... MCQ are most like step 2 Ck .... and CCS is all about they will give you a case scenerio like chest pain and will ask you how to manage ..... step by step .... And its possible to get 99 or high score without residency ..... 3 of my senior got 85 , 95 and 97 before entering residency ..... last year ....
