Default What is the best review book for step 3 in 2016?

There's an older poll on this topic, but it's quite out-dated.

All these books have been published in the past 2 years. Please vote if you know enough about the book and you found it useful for exam.

It would be nice to see more replies Peter Pan. Everything is give me give me mentality sometimes in these forums lol.

My plan is to focus on uworld step 3 and ccs as my textbooks. There is so much information to learn from those 2 resources alone. I also bought the step 3 kaplan qbook for extra questions but this is a much older resource and one should only use this early on or as a break from uworld. There will be outdated guidelines in there but uworld will cover the latest.

I have a personal bias to the MTB series and did not like them when trying to use them for CK. I bought them only because people all had used them. After the CK exam, I went back to check on the MTB books and there was nothing striking from their books in where I would feel regret in not using them.

I bought the First Aid step 3 4th edition print copy and it's ok for just fact reference. It's much more detailed than MTB but not meant to be a cover to cover read. Fischer is actually one of the faculty reviewers of the First Aid Step 3 lol. The minute details in first aid can be useful to just know those things not tested in question format. There is a decent amount of basic science stuff but I don't think step 3 is heavy on this for us to study first aid step 1 all over.

There are no reviews of recommended resources from the back of the First Aid step 3 like how they did for their Step 1 and Step 2ck books.

At the end of first aid step 3, there are about 63 ccs cases. Almost similar to the mini case format like in their first aid step 2 cs book. Not very detailed and maybe just useful to get a primary basic idea of ccs topics before focusing on uworld ccs.
