Neuro Pathophysiology of TIA?

What is the mechanism of TIA is it embolic or thrombotic ?

any one can explain please.

TIAs are ischemia of the CNS which last clinically less than 24 hours. So all causes of ischemic stroke should be considered. However, the most common cause of TIA is emboli from an atherosclerotic plaque in the Carotid Arteries
