Yeah, the online.
It takes around one month from the day you apply until the day you get your scheduling permit. You cannot do everything online, there are documents that you have to send by mail (certification of identity and the postgraduate training form)
Two of my friends recently registered and that's what happened with them.

Nope! from my experience, you will first have to fill up the online part and pay and then send the CID and will receive the schduelling permit. The overall process took 2-3 weeks for me.

You will have the cert in Aug or take the last test? It takes 2 weeks after the cert is approved by ECFMG to record the certification.

Default step 3 application timeline

Just an update here. I applied online last week, send the forms by regular mail last week and got approved this week!!!! That was less than 7 days!
I'm glad it went that quick.
I don't know in other cases, but don't count on the 2-4 weeks just in case it goes quicker!

There are only a couple of States where you can apply to do it without the postgrad training form, check them out. If you select one of those states, you don't have to. I called them anyway just to make sure I was sending the right docs. Good luck!
