Question with step 3 result I can only have H1B?

Hi,

I wonder if I take step 3 (and pass), the only visa I can apply for is H1B? Cause I might prefer J1 with which my hubby can also work unlike with H1B..

so I dunno whether to apply for step 3 now or not..

can you give me a link where there is info about all that?

thx-thx-thx

If you need H1B Visa you need to pass Step 3 but the reverse is not true.

If you pass Step 3 that does not mean you have to get H1B visa. You can get J1 or whatever.

I wanted to ask about that point, I know my wife can't work on H4 if I am on H1, but how is that usually resolved if she applies to residency position here?? Is she converted to H1 or J1??
