Default reading cases in UW CCS and

and they say things like give every 15 min
CHeck every 15 min

since medications are single dose or continuous we cannot order every 15 min only what the software allows and that is ok right?

Allergic reaction epi is continuous and stop after improvement?

or do I do something else?

Yes,most(not all) of the ER cases need orders first.

that's what I meant the other day, too.
e.g. blood cultures, you don't do a single set, you do 2 or 3 and THEN give antibiotics. But apparently in CCS you order blood cultures, advance the clock one min and then start antibiotics. it's confusing!

I would give epi as a single dose ..., not sure what happens in ccs case then though. check it out, try giving it as a bolus. epi continuous is usually only in icu setting.

if patient is unstable, first do some basic orders like oxygen sat, give oxygen, order ecg, then go on to physicial exam. you can do focused exam, order stuff, finish your exam while you wait for results and safe time like that.

Right so if I order things then click on exam and do the 5 min total focused exam the clock advances automatically
then if the results not there click and advance to next result

right? I'm trying to make it clear because the other way is to
order click advance
exam and if needed click advance

I do not see why I can't order quick things then do exam and advance

in that order. CCS is confusing

Yes to your first question (the exam itself will already advance some time and some results will show up as time advances, after that you'll need to do some orders or keep advancing).

You can order some quick things and then go to physical exam but I would be very careful with what I order... I mean, oxygen saturation, accucheck, oxygen, naloxone or stuff like that is indicated at the very beginning..., but for most stuff you actually have to do some sort of exam, even if it's only a short focused one!
