Info Step 3 questions

Hi folks,

I would like to know what are requirements to take a Step 3?

Is that helpful to get to residency?

When do FMGs do usually take this test?

Thank you.

You are eligible for step 3 once you are ECFMG certified ie when you have graduated plus taken successfuly step1 and step2CK and CS.
For FMGs many community programs prefer candidates with step 3,but thats not the rule.
FMGs usually(again not always) take it before residency but AMGs definitely take it during residency.
