ECFMG certificate not arrived yet !

Hi (to everybody and Sabio in particular),
I got my CS result on 18th Aug and the deadline for applying for step 3 in 2010 is Sept 3. But I have not yet received the ECFMG certificate either online on my OASIS account or to my home-address till now. What should I do ? Any suggestions ? Help !

When you opened the CS results in OASIS on August 18th there should have been a message (in red font) telling you that you have satisfied the requirement for ECFMG certification and we'll send the certificate within 2 weeks.
That message disappears from your OASIS account in 24 hours so you cannot see it now.
So you have to wait for 2 weeks and if you don't get the certificate (by FedEx) by then you should give them a call.

Your ECFMG Status should automatically change to "certified" immediately and you don't need the "physical hard" copy of the certificate except for one thing "which is the date of issue". Therefore I suggest you go an apply for Step 3 and tell them that the date of your certificate is September 2010. Although this is risky as you never know when it will arrive.

The other option you have is to wait until September 3rd and hopefully by then you have the certificate in hand.

Hi all,
I am an IMG and wud be grateful if the following queries are answered:
1. What boards can I apply for during step 3 application if I have no residency training in US ?
2. Among the supporting documents as mentioned on the FSMB site (CIN form, PGT form and Board approval form) - which of the forms do we require to send as an IMG or do we need to send all 3 ?
3. I distinctly remember sending a CIN form stamped by notary during step 1 application. In that case, do I have to send this form again afresh for step 3 ?

Answers:
1) Go to this page http://www.fsmb.org/usmle_requirementschart.html and select any state that has "NO" in the last column.

2 and 3) You need all of the documents and your ECFMG CIN will not work with them.

PGT Form is Post Graduate Training Form. It's a proof that you did or currently doing residency.

Hey I got my CS result on 18th Aug too, and I got my ECFMG certificate on 1st sept.

I was nervous about it too, coz of the 3rd sept deadline for step3. but I guees all you can do is wait. I tried calling ECFMG, but all they said was it will come in 2 weeks.

but even if they take the entire 2 weeks from 18th aug, it will still coem in time for 3 rd sept. remember that the deadline is 5pm, not mid-night (pls check the timezone) on fsmb.

As IMGs who have not got into any residency yet, how are we supposed to fill up the PGT form ? And what about the Board approval form ?

As an IMG, shud we have to take care of only about the CIN form ?

You have to pick a state that does not require you to be in residency when you apply for Step 3, pick California for example and then you don't need to fill board approval or the PGT forms, only the CIN.

If I travel out of my country in August/Sept, how can I notify ECFMG to send the certificate to another address? Can I change the address somewhere in OASIS now? I'm also waiting for my CS results on Aug 17.

Thanks God I passed in 16 August ...The dead line for 2011 step 3 application is the 2nd Septemper...I am currently in the middle east ..

Will i be able to apply for step 3 this year?? and if i miss this date when i can apply again??

Deadline is not actually September 3. Basically the 2011 application materials will be used until September 3. That is the deadline for using the application.

If you miss it, its no big deal. The 2012 application forms will come out at September end or early October. With the 2012 application, the earliest Step 3 permit will start in November of this year (2011).

Thanks Sabio..That's exactly what happened..

I attached a screen capture of this notice to explain it more ...Because when i opened Oasis in the day of posting results i did not find this notice immediately . I imagined that i failed .After that , I opened (score report information ) and i found it (Big relief)
This notice disappeared after 2 or 3 days approximately.

My best wishes for all to see it.
