Question Step 3 eligibility?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know that's once I have applied for step3 exam how long do I have to take the exam before it expires. For ck I remember u have take exam within 6months of applying and paying the fees. Is it the same for step3?

Once your application is approved you will be automatically assigned 3 months eligibility period. Unlike, Step 1 and CK, you won't be able to choose the eligibility period, they'll sign you up automatically once your application approved.

Thanks for the reply.
So does that mean I should apply only when I am ready to give the exam? How long does the application procedure take?
I plan to give it in next 2months.. But I still am not sure if I am better off taking it now or during residency. So I don't know if applying prematurely is a good things or not.

once you apply, your eligibility date begins 15 to 21 days from receiving your complete application.

Thanks. So i dont get to chose it. N so how long does it take for the application to complete?!

Correct Answer

Around 3 weeks. I submitted my application on December 3rd, got mt scheduling permit on dec 18th. Eligibility period upto 90 days from dec 18th.

If you submit your online application and make your payment, you have upto 1 year to complete your application by submitting proof of identity(notarized).

Yes.
Once you complete you online application. You have 1yr time to submit required proof of id papers. Please read in detail from FSMB website.
