Hi bro, long time no see! I thought something happened to you...
There are several ways to study for this exam depending on the score you want and the amount of time you are planning to invest in your studies...

Several people go with the MTB3 + uworld +CCs cases and only study that.

I will share my study plan with you which is a little bit more complex.

  • I will start Kaplan Qbank today.. will do it random/timed twice and will revise the links that are there with MTB3.
  • Then I will do Kaplan lecture notes and watch the corresponding DVD's this I will do in 1 month max..
  • I will then do Uworld in 2 weeks or less. the plan is to also do this twice.. just like in Step 1 and Step 2 CK.
  • Then I will subscribe to Uworld CCS cases and will do Archer CCS review course.. this I will leave for the last month of prep (August) so that im really fresh.
I plan to take the exam in the second week of september... IF you are planning to apply for the H1B visa you should do the exam during the last days of august all the way to september.. so that programs can see that you have everything and that gives you an Edge

Happy studying!

Good going fellas. Do you guys feel it is important to do Kaplan videos + Archer review or it's fine to do one of them? Have started with Kaplan videos and they are pretty long but very helpful.

Hai step_enhancer..
Happy to see u back here...
Sorry for delayed reply. I was little busy with travel for 2 days..

Yes we can have good discussions as we have in CK forum...
I am slow in beginning. Planning to write Step 3 in chicago by August and september.....

Together we can cover topic by topic....

As XpaezX has mentioned its better to start with Kaplan ...Achar vedios....

I have started with FA and MTB. and doing questions...

All the best ...Together we can enjoy and study and have fun as in CK...

Pick whichever book you want, the important part here are the qbanks

Well im a strange guy,Im studying on average 8 hours with tops at 12.

Im doing pretty good, already finished everything once including kaplan's qbank, im in the process of reviewing again and doing more questions.

Will start CCS soon, as I have only covered the MCQ's part.

Im studying like this for 2 reasons.. First I really want to rape this exam just for peace of mind and because Im also preparing for my country boards.. which is kind of similar to step 3.. thats why I have to be extremely well prepared.

But like vaibhavmanu said you dont need these many resources to get a good score!

The best way to understand drug ads is to have a solid base for statistics.. you can try practicing the ones given in UWORLD.. I haven seen a webpage or anything like that that actually shows how to answer those questions.

I did u world drug ad in my ck exam but the knowledge was not solid . I also know my statistics well but that didn't help too. I just have to know it, I can't afford to fail it again in my step3 exam.

Default kaplan q bank

Im starting today, preparing for step 3, with kaplan qbank is it me or it is shorter than the step 1 n 2 qbanks. It only comes with 926 Qs, I dont know if Im rememembering correctly or not but for the previous steps it was something close to a 2000 qs...
Im planning of doing 1 Q bank (48 Qs) per day for 2 weeks while I read all of MTB3 thats 12 tests (Im skipping Sundays) and then I would have only 7 qbanks left... Im still not sure what Ill do after the first two weeks any suggestions?

Archer videos are online and you have to pay for them, there is no free site or free way to obtain them. This is the link to their webpage.

I liked it because it gives you nice explanations and its sources are books published by elsevier, which include A LOT of books..

The questions sometimes are really vague and extremely hard, so if you happen to get it; you will be pissed from time to time.

Overall I believe consult is a good qbank, will give you challenging questions and will give you more practice questions.

The decision is up to you!
