Wink CCS Thread.....

Hi guys.... I know everyone is studying for Step 3 and while the theory is straight forward, everyone is still having questions about ccs management and the algorithms.....

Can we start a post about useful "Must DO" algorithms for CCS cases.

Here goes mine......

Pregnancy First visit

AFter B-hcg and Confirming with US

CBC
BMP
Blood Type and RH
Atypical Antibody
Urinalysis
Urine Culture
Rubella Antibodies
VDRL/RPR
HBsAg
HIV
Chlamydia
Pap Smear

ALSO ON SPECIAL OCCASSIONS ADD
Gonorrhea
TB
Hg Electrophoresis
Hexosaminidase A
CF
Phenylalanine Levels
Hep C AB

Conclude with:

PRENATAL VITAMINS
IRON SULFATE
FOLIC ACID
COUNSELING........there is alot just pick all at the same time

Schedule next exam in 4 weeks

Urine Protein
Uterine Fundal Height
Fetal Heart tones
Fetal Activity/ presentation

Telemetry

Pt's PUlse Ox gets better....SEnd to Ward...Change NEbs to MDI and IV to PO

Discharge with
COunseling
Vaccines
Home O2 if Ox<90

I would suggest you guys to check out Neeraj's Step 3 CCS Notes; just google it; it's precious! This forum is not as active as other step 3 forums which is a shame. I've been using other forums to gather more information about this exam. I know that they released step 3 results last night and there is not a single post in here with people's experience, who passed, etc.

ya so disappointed in this forum...the other ones were soooo much help for the exam and time pass during breaks from studying like crazy....

This forum is dead because almost everyone takes step 3 when they are in residency and well.. A lot of people just forget to enter these awesome forums

THanks .Just keep looking i guess..I"ll add stuff as i go along. It'll make it easy for someone lol
