Question Location for STEP 3

Hello,

This may be obvious to those in the US medical system however it is less to others.

I have completed STEP 1, 2CK and 2CS.
I understand that various boards have different requirements.
What's the catch with registering for a given state. I mean, if I register and pass STEP 3 in Florida, will I have limitations to practice in an other state?

Thank you.

No issues. It does not matter where you take Step 3, once you pass, it's valid for the entire 50 States.

Are you sure about this? It does not seem to be mentioned anywhere on the FSMB site? Will the scheduling permit clearly say that it can be written anywhere?

If that is the case, is there a reason why people choose Florida or Maryland when all of them can choose Connecticut (because they process the application fast) and write the exam in whichever state they are in?

Yes. Am sure.
It's mentioned in the FSMB website here
