Experiences How I rocked Step 3

Hi everyone. I have used this site as a guide per se for all my steps, Mostly to fine tune my studying and I have to say it has been wonderful. Thanks everyone who contributes to this and i wish pple would contribute alittle more to step 3.

anyways I got an amazing score on step3 (for some odd reason lol)
Started studying late march. So you can say produtive 4 months after a year of CK

MTB 3 with notes from MTB2 and MTB internal Medicine.
For theory to be honest that should be more than enough if you did good on ck. I got a 229.
UWORLD. 1.5 times. average ist time unused, random at 61%
Kaplan 1 time.........average 73% same

CCS. Archer is GOLD. DOnt walk in the exam and expect to pass it if you haven't gone over archers. You need to learn how to manage but to do that you need to know the software and how to navigate it..No way around it.

Took NBME2. i got a 450 which apparently was decent.
took UWSA 10 days before. I scored a 227. Really Exam score is with in 10 Points. (I felt like i was failing when i took UWSA. It was extremely hard but it still predicted 227)

Exam Experience.
Ist day was a blur. I couldn't judge it at all. it felt like when i did UWSA so i hoped for the best. You get no time to thing you have to do a running diagnosis while you read and pick an answer right away. Ignored the abstracts completely and just guessed. Even with the two abstracts time is way too tight and i am really fast at these questions so judge your self.

2nd day. feeling horrible from the first. the MCQ"s were extremely easy for me. I was super happy. I can say i got almost all right i think. It was amazing lol .

CCS: I killed 3 patients i think. made two wrong diagnosis and was uneasy.

according to that i should fail ccs. but i got a high score. The reason is because i followed protocol. Archer's goes over a protocol from start to end and if you follow you'll be fine whether you know it or not. LIke fisher said you dont need medical knowledge to pass ccs and he is right. BUT PROTOCOL IS MANDATORY. Follow the order.

Best piece of advice. Calm your nerves. i know this is a life making test for some pple and no one takes it lightly but you have to calm down and not stress your self. specially in CCS. It is nerve wrecking and i think someone had told me this I would've scored in the 240's.

Best of luck to everyone. I'll answer questions if you have any so plz feel free. Its time to give back. Best of luck for the match everyone.

WoW! Congrats and Thank you so much for your post!!I'm confused on what classes to pay for at archers.. what is your recommendation? Live workshop/ theory/ ccs only ?Also, how much time were you studying per day over the past 4 months?

lol my score is with in 10 points from my UWSA.+- 227. The test is doable but like all of them you have to study your ass off.

to be honest for archers. that 88 dollar CCS is Mandatory.
Archer's also has a theory part. Which is 245. I paid for it because I was paranoid, Extremely and in all honesty it paid off. he goes over all of IM subjects plus obgyn and peds. The videos are amazing and he goes over stuff thats not in MTB. There are disorders like in orthopedics or Urology or preventive Med or Oncology that you wont find anywhere. Archers had those and i incorporated it into my MTB3.

In the End after all the struggle I don't think you can put a price on alittle peace of mind and it is extremely high yield. So make your own decision but its well worth it.

Better Safe than sorry
