Default Step 3 VS USCE

I'm an US IMG, finished Step 1 and CK with 250+. Awaiting my CS results. I haven't had much luck with observerships or USCE in general, only have a month of IM in a private hospital. I was wondering if it's better to apply for Research positions or take Step 3. Hopefully I'll have the results by the time interviews start.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

I suggest you not to take Step 3 if you don't need a visa. One of my friends has very good step 1 and step 2 scores but he failed Step 3 and didn't get any interview. So it's better to do USCE than take Step 3. Hope that helps

but even a passing score on step 3 can get you h1 visa which is much better than j1 so there r both pros and cons of the situation ,you hv to see what suits u the best and at this time it will be difficult to get usce at such a short notice..and if u hv 250 +on step 1 and ck..no way ur failing this
