Default need some guidance regarding CCS!!

hey friends,
i m an IMG about to take my step 3 in august. I m practicing CCS cases right now. I havent taken archer. and the only experience I have to US hospitals is few observerships last year.
I need some help regarding CCS...I am not able to understand whether m going right or on wrong path as the case proceeds..
for eg...the 'clock' in the explanation would say 'shift to ward' and what i did was 'shift to ED,do tests get results(for stat), and then to ward
is ther any link which explains exactly 'HOW TO proceed in ccs...'
i've heard about archer, but m not sure about it....

please help me guys
thanks in advance

Hi Jenny
You dont need to shift pt to ED just for to get result,
If pt comes to office and you suspect some emegency condition then shift patient to ED and after coming to ED order whatever test you want to order stat and once you get result and pt is stable but needs some IV treatment or observation then shift pt to ward ..
and certain situation where even after initial managment pt is not stable then shift patient to ICU .
Hope this will help you . Let me know if you have any doubts

Great question. Archer explains this very well in the workshop. "STAT" timings change between ER and Office. You do not want your TIA patient getting a CT scan from office with a delay of 3 hours. If you put CT scan order in office it takes 3 hours to get back results. So in emergency presentations that come to office, move them to ER using change location button and then place CT scan orders for example; same TIA patient --. move to ER --> order CT now --> becomes 30 minutes report time
3 hours or 30 minutes -- you choose!! These tricks are extremely important on CCS exam to minimize Simulated time in urgent settings and score high. UW software does not explain or train us on all these and that is unfortunate. Do archer thoroughly and practice on uw after that
