In firstaid 2010 page 348:
lead poisoning enzyme affected is "ALA dehydratase"
BUT
In errata FA (from firstaid website) it says replace it with " ALA synthase "
which one is correct plz clarify , thanks
Lead poisoning directly inhibits ALA dehydratase and ferrochelatase. Lead poisoning can cause sideroblastic anemia which inhibits ALA synthase.
So in short, lead poisoning inhibits ALA dehydratase directly and ALA synthase indirectly.
