Official Medical Institutes About the official NBME Tests & Forms

Post last updated in March 2013

What are these?

These are USMLE exam style questions provided by NBME which is the authority responsible for the USMLE exams.

Where to find them
You can find them here
https://nsas.nbme.org/nsasweb/servlet/mesa_main

Choose Comprehensive Basic Science Self Assessment (CBSSA) if you are looking for USMLE Step 1 tests
There are six forms (6,7,11,12,13 and 15): Each form costs $50 which is composed of 4 tests each of which 50 questions, so each form totaling 200 questions.
If you do all six forms then you have done 1200 questions.

Form 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4 were removed from the official website.

In April 2011, Form 1 and Form 2 were replaced by Form 11, and Form 12 respectively, read more here http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-ne...rm-12-out.html

In March 2012, Form 3 was replaced by Form 13 in March 2012, read more here http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-ne...rm-13-out.html

In March 2013, form 15 was introduced but form 5 is still there, read more about it here http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-ne...tml#post179883

Choose Comprehensive Clinical Science Self Assessment (CCSSA) if you are looking for USMLE Step 2 CK tests

There are four forms: Each form costs $50 and the one with expanded feedback is for $60.
In April 2013, Form 1 was removed and Form 6 was added, so now there's 2, 3, 4, and 6.

These forms were not updated since several years.

Choose Comprehensive Clinical Medicine Self Assessment (CCMSA) if you are looking for USMLE Step 3 tests
There are 2 forms (Form 2 and Form 3): Costing $60 and is composed of 5 tests each of which is 36 questions, so totaling 180 questions.

Form 1 was removed in April 2012.
