Default Help with ECFMG, applying for CS

Hi guys,
I already have taken my Step 1 in November 2016. ECFMG has my Form 186 on file. But I have not yet received my medical school diploma. Previously, I had sent them a letter from my medical school's Dean saying that I had completed all requirements and that I would receive the diploma by November. But unfortunately, I still haven't received the diploma. They still have that letter on file, but do I need to send an updated letter from my Dean to ECFMG again or can I just go ahead and apply for CS? Please help!

If you have a valid form 186 on file, you just have to complete the online application and ECFMG will issue the scheduling permit once the online application is processed, I don't think they will bother about the graduation date as the letter mentions an expected date of graduation. I think you should be fine as long as you have a valid form 186 on fine.

Default Thanks saxo…

Thanks for clarifying that, saxo. I just have one more question:

- How long does it take for ECFMG to process the online application for the CS given that I already have a valid Form 186 on file? Will it still take the 3 weeks, or can I expect it sooner? Also, how long would it take to receive the Scheduling Permit once the application has been accepted?

Should take 3-4 weeks. You'll get the scheduling permit around that time as well.

Oh. Okay, I assumed that since I already had a valid Form 186 on file that my application would be processed sooner. Thanks saxo.
