Default Taking a closer look at harassment in the workplace california

The workplace is an environment that is full of many different personalities, all of which have different interests and temperaments. It is for this exact reason that laws were stipulated to protect the weaker personalities from the overbearing ones. This is the entire essence of the harassment law in Labour law.

What pertains to harassment in the workplace?

As far as I see it, any behaviour that creates an intimidating, violent or hostile environment for an employee is indeed harassment. By law, any harassment in the workplace California based on someone’s age, race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, marital status, disability or even political stance is unlawful and one can be charged for it in the court of law.

What can the law do for you?

The beauty of understanding the law is the fact that you know what your rights are as an employee. The law stipulates that if your rights are violated in any way, you can file a suit against your offender and be compensated, sometimes heavily, for it.
