I updated my signature with creds (not good at all but can't change it now). They sent an optional survey via email which I'm sure means nothing.

Thanks but it's mostly California programs as you can see, which are out of reach to a lot of foreigners because of social security number requirements etc. which means they get much less applications.

I tried my best not to comment on this post but i guess in the end i couldnt help myself.
just out of curiousity
- who is monitoring the forum for interviews?
- i believe your name is a pseudo name so no one can know who you are
- if you are not going to update the names i wonder how you are supporting the movement because i believe the idea of this thread was for support and encouragement
- it is your own right to comment what you want but you dont necessary have to post if you dont want to give information

nothing against you just my sincere opinion
thanks for updating us again

Who cares what programs he applied to the most important thing is his stats and he is GETTING interviews. That is what I am most interested in. Let's try to make this forum friendly or no one is going to post on here.

I got nothing today. Someone told me they got HonorHealth FM rej today it might be their second wave as I got mine last week or so. I'll keep the team apprised if I get any movement.

Hey Gang ... What do you think the percentages of programs that actually send out rejection emails? For example ... if you apply to 100 programs do 50% of them send a rejection?

I have not got a lot of rejections and I am hoping that is a good thing and not that they just don't send out emails.

Thanks!

Good question I am a numbers guy I was told by people who applied in FM previously it's 40-45 pct of progs actually let you know that's it. You can assume half your list won't even contact you and it's a silent rejection.

Kinda sucks I pay 26 bucks to see the outcome but oh well.

Yeah Carib grad here. I applied to about 85 programs. Thanks, but I don't think 5 is crushing it personally. Let's see how the rest of October goes. And just to clarify, that negative symbol was a rejection from UCLA.

At the end after going to a few FM conferences I was told FM WANTS CARIBBEAN decent scores emphasis in FM your in as a Caribbean its much harder for us other foreign doctors. All the best to you man.

Hello everyone

New to the thread. Count me in. My stats:

US IMG Caribbean
Step 1:215
Step 2 CK: 223
Step 2 CS: pass
All first attempt

I've applied to 66 programs. 11 of which I applied on Oct 3. Anyone know if that's too late?

So far two interviews: Virtua and SIU Carbondale

Two rejections: Tallahassee and SIU Decatur

Question for the Carib grads who are getting interviews - did you go to Ross or SGU? You don't have to specify which one ( I know people want to keep some of that information private on here ).

I'm just wondering because I've been told that a lot of programs (especially in NY) have filters for IMG's by school and they tend to prefer Ross and SGU students.

Your suspicions are correct. The most likely reason is that St. George's and then followed Ross are the 2 largerst Carib schools respectively. The reason they prefer applicants from those two are most likely the most reputable, and secondly, have the largest alumni network which would show some bias towards applicants from their school.

Howdy,

I'm new here. Here are my stats- 255/244 CS Pass first attempt, European grad and still in school, US citizen. I did a FM subinternship and have 24 mos USCE. I applied to 151 programs that I identified through match-a-resident, and so far have 18 interviews though 5 are really part of one single rural training program. Here's where I'm interviewing:

St Vincent's East
UICOM Peoria
Jackson Park
St Francis U of Tennessee
St Francis Wilmington DE
East Jefferson
East Baptist
AnMed
AnMed Rural
Greenville Health System (SC)
University of Nebraska (5 Rural sites)
University of Tennessee (Jackson)
SIU Carbondale

Rejections:
Vancouver Washington
Trident Health
Gunderson

I'm mostly posting because these all came the week I applied and it's mostly been silent since then. I wanted to do at least 25 interviews and I keep hearing rumors about an October "surge." I'm on the fence about finalizing travel plans that I've made for December/January since I could possibly still get a few more.

7 Rejections so far:

Tallahassee
Aultman/NEOMED
SIU Decatur
Uni of Kansas

This is frustrating.

Eeter, I can feel your pain. I think 240 on step 1 (even for the second attempt) is definitely a good score, and the rest of your steps are decent. I have a friend who is applying this year having 5+ ivs now on some difficult specialities even she has a second attempt on CS. Connection is definitely important in people who have more than one attempt. I don't think you are completely out of the game. I believe you will get some ivs after the strongest applicants start canceling. I totally understand it is hard while waiting for ivs, since I'm applying this year too. Keep faith and keep us posted!

I think that failure is hurting me but my scores are really strong for FM not sure whats going wrong.
Great number of programs applied and strong scores but the failure and YOG will be an issue. Stay positive ... I think we will get a Third Round (End of Oct) and Forth Round (Nov-Dec) coming.

Hi everyone... first time post for me. Im 4th year carib US IMG, applied to 200+ family programs, all over the US. Mostly community and rural . My scores are:

Step 1 - 212 first attempt
Step 2 ck - 210 first attempt
Step 2 cs - pass first attempt

Interview - 1 confirmed so far in Washington

Rejections - 23... all from the same programs listed by others previously in the thread...

Anyone in a similar situation, having anymore luck with getting interviews? or any advice? and hopefully everyone starts hearing back from more programs soon

Also, judging by the stats on the NRMP website from last year....

32% interviews extended before Oct 1
42% interviews extended in Oct
17% interviews extended in Nov
6% interviews extended in Dec
3% interviews extended in Jan

So hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks, things will pick up
