Listening Should my friend accept the Staten Island Hospital Prematch!

One of my friend who just got an IV needs your suggestion. The interview is on 28th of Oct so its just few days away. The thing is the hospital is known for offering pre match. I know most of you will be thinking that there will be no pre match this year but this is what he has told me so would appreciate if anyone can give his input. he has been invited by Staten island hospital. His credentials are

Dec 2011 graduate(IMG)
step 1 230
step 2 230
CS passed first attempt
2 clinical electives from university hospitals
1 observership from harvard and other from John Hopkins
24 publications

If he is offered a prematch should he accept it or wait for the interviews. The other thing is being an IMG considering accepting or not accepting a prematch does sound arrogant but that's the reason he needs ur suggestions.

No one but him will know best what he wants. If I was him, I would ask myself the next questions:

1) Does he like the program? Does he think he will be happy working there? If yes, take the pre-match no matter what.
2) Does he have 3+ invitations? if no, he should think about accepting the prematch unless he's SUUUUREEEE the remaining hospitals will love him.
3) Does he have charisma? Is he likely to make a good first impression in the couple of minutes during the interview? if yes, he might afford not accepting the match, specially if he has many invitations; if no, and/or he doesn't have many invitations, he might want to accept it.

But in the end, no one else but him knows what he really wants and what to do with the rest of his life.

Good luck~
