I have step 1 score of 234 and step 2 ck (198). I had family problem while I was taking step 2ck exam and only read usmle world questions. so I got devastated. today I found out that I didn't match. If I score step 3 more than 230 which I believe I can, since I have made it on step 1, would it off set the low score I have on step 2ck? How helpful would it be for next interview and match? please coordinators and any one who knows similar experience is greatly appreciated.

Yes. It would dilute the effect of your low CK score. But to a certain extent, do not expect magic.
What you can do also, is to improve on the other aspects of your profile, these are: > USCE (externships, observerships, research) > US LoRs > Publications in Pubmed > Connections in residency programs > Better personal statement > Volunteering in recognized places such as the Red Cross for example > CME and Conferences The issue is that many programs set automated filters to USMLE scores, so if you get filtered out by that filter (because of your low CK score) then they won't even look at your Step 3 score, no matter what is it. To overcome this filter, you need connections, so that somebody tell them "Hey, he got a very nice score in step 3, so the CK score was a blunder". - |

But do you think there is a higher probability that I wouldn't make it in US?I am really frustrated I feel some part of me giving up. Do you guys think I will ultimately make it?

I don't know your entire profile to make a guess.
The general rule is that if you don't match in a season then it's highly likely you won't match in the next season unless you have dramatic changes in your profile. - |

I have seen majority of people who have applied late this year did not match or get any IV.
Also I believe you should focus on one specialty to enhance your chances. I would choose one and make sure your CV is dedicated to that one, all the way. |

While you are studying for step 3 you should get some USCE in a specific speciality and apply for that.
