Default Need to Update your Personal Statement for the 2020 Post-Match SOAP?

Your Personal Statement is a Powerful Post-Match Application Tool

The Personal Statement is often overlooked as an important part of Post-Match preparation. Some residency candidates either don’t realize they can add or make changes to their Personal Statement, or don’t see the value in the Personal Statement as the fastest and most personal introduction between you and Program Directors.

The Personal Statement can open the door to applying to other specialties. Historically, the top three SOAP specialties (specialties with the most available positions) are:
1. Preliminary General Surgery
2. Internal Medicine (Categorical or Preliminary)
3. Family Medicine
If you do not have documents for one or more of these specialties, you can make up for it by preparing a specialty-specific Personal Statement in advance. This will make you appear far more prepared for the specialty than having a generic Personal Statement.

And-- between applying in September to Match Week in March, there could be new experiences or other information you may want to inform programs about.

While your MyERAS Application cannot change once you have “Certified,” that doesn’t mean you haven’t completed more experiences throughout the Residency Application Season. If you’re looking to prepare for the Post-Match SOAP®, you will want your Personal Statements written, reviewed, or revised.

Choose from either of Residency Statement’s services to complete your Personal Statement:

Editing (S-ES): (Choose Expedite Option - 24-48 hours)**
Get your Personal Statement draft edited to perfection. (Processing time 3-5 days).

Writing (S-WS): (Choose Expedite Option - 3-5 days)**
Have your Personal Statement written from scratch. (Processing time 7-10 days).

**Expedite Option Available in Checkout Basket
