After completing residency applications and attending interviews, the next step in the residency application process is creating, modifying and certifying Rank Order Lists on NRMP. Rank Order Lists allow residency candidates to rank residency programs they interviewed with in the hopes of securing a successful Match.

Match A Resident’s Rank Assist Feature Makes it All Easy


Rank Assist is a free-to-use tool created to help facilitate residency candidates in making their ranking decisions during the Rank Order List (ROL) creation period between mid-January and early March on NRMP®.

How to Access and Use Rank Assist

Step 1: Register or Log in to your Match A Resident account
Step 2: In your Dashboard, click on the Rank Assist feature on the left-hand side
Step 3: Fill out the unique Rank Questionnaire and receive a score out of 10 for each residency program you interviewed with
Step 4: Click and drag added programs to create your perfect Rank Order List


With Rank Assist, you will be able to brainstorm, prepare and finalize your residency programs before certifying the final Rank Order List on NRMP.
