Can some one kindly post list of hospitals who offer residency in internal medicine or family medicine please to old IMG grads ( more then 10 years old)??
hey guys,
i'm applying to FM programs. while selecting the FM categorical track in ERAS, i noticed some of the programs have mentioned '(physician only).' what does that mean?
Hi,
I was not initially planning to apply to FM.but I have been advised by some of my friends to do so.now if my lors become available by the end of this month or early next month,am I too late for FM,coz I have heard FM programs already started sending invites?...
Thanks
Plz ans
here's a question for everybody....
if you could get into a FM program or IM program which specialty would u pick if you were planning on sticking to primary care and not doing a fellowship? Also why?
This threads is dedicated for Family Medicine 2014 Match Applicants.
You can share how you are preparing for the Family Medicine Residency Matching.
You can also later share your news of getting interviews and/or rejections and anything related to your Family Medicine Residency Application...
Did anyone find family med to be extremely competitive this year? I applied for both IM and family, with family as my backup. But surprisingly I had more interviews for IM than I did for family. Just wondering if anybody else noticed that too.
Hi Guys,
I have an interview at Doctors Hospital of Michigan Pontiac in couple of weeks. They have group discussion for one hour. Can some one let me know what it is all about. Anyone who has interviewed there, please share your experience, I just need an idea what it is all about.
Thanks
If one has 12 weeks usce in I.M with some research experience in I.M but also want to apply for Family medicine then how many weeks clinical experience in F.M is required??
I didn't notice a thread for this group. Thought i'd start it up.
Hopefully applicants can gather here like the other threads and post stats etc.
My stats:
School: Carrib-IMG
Scores:
Step 1 - 222 (1st try)
Step 2 CS - Passed (1st try)
Step 2 CK - Pending
USCE: "72" Months USCE in ACGME...
Dont know but fear of IMGs being weeded out seems obscure after reading this article..OHIO is an IMGfriendly state ..and still short of primary care doctors..probably they will fill in with IMGS..Waiting eagerly for this year's NRMP results...
I wonder if it's easier for non-US IMG to match in family medicines, because matching in internal medicine has become increasingly competitive, even for high scorers. However, I also know that there's a trend in family medicine programs to match GC holders or US citizens.
What do you think...
I want to increase my chances by applying to FM beside IM
Will they welcome me as I have experience in IM but no FM
What s the lifestyle of FM resident, Wht patients does he see?
Does he go to ER, regular floor or just outpatients?
Looking for residency in FM. My Score, 83/89/Pass all first attempt, strong LoR from UK university hospital, Year of grad 2009, Master MSc qualification in Public Health from UK, early research experiences, But no USCE
On searching for various program criteria for Family Medicine i found that more than 90% of the programs require 6-12 month of USCE other than Externship and observership. How can an IMG fulfill this criteria, these are the only ways in which we can gain USCE. :toosad:
Further I dont think that...
