A 28 year old female presented with right lower abdominal pain that seems to occur in a cyclic pattern one week after the end of her menstrual bleeding. It has been there since several months. The physician assured her that this is likely to be related to her normal hormonal changes. Which of the following hormonal changes if found right after the onset of pain confirms the physician's suspicion?
A- Elevated Estradiol
B- Elevated Estriol
C- Elevated Progesterone
D- Elevated FSH/LH ratio
E- Elevated Leutenizing hormone

Mittelschmerz pain

This is Mittelschmerz Pain which occurs at the time of ovulation. The Rise of LH is the most appropriate answer I think
Can someone confirm this one please? Why is LH high?

LH surge marks the time of ovulation which coincides with Mittelschmerz pain.

ovulation takes place 14 days after the start of the last mens rite? say she menstruated for 5 days and a week later would only be 12 days. u positive its mittelschimerz? even if say she menstruated for a week and a week later was ovulation time, the pain only started several months ago.

this is so weird. i'd do a USG. what bout fibroids?
Mittelschmerz is midcycle abdominal pain due to leakage of prostaglandin-containing follicular fluid at the time of ovulation. It is self-limited, and a theoretical concern is treatment of pain with prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors, which could prevent ovulation.
