Adding funds to your OASIS account

Go to your OASIS account then click on the "Financial Account Summery" on the left.

Then you can see at the bottom "Make Online Payment". Click on that and pay a certain amount using one of your credit cards. Then repeat the process and pay more using your other credit card.

Note that in your financial account in OASIS you can make "advanced" payments. Which means you add funds there before you use them for exam application.

This can be useful if your credit card does not allow you to be charged a certain limit per day. For example you can add $300 per day until there's enough funds in your account and then you can use it to pay for the exam.

Also, in case you want to divide the payment into two cards you can do the same.

Note that the credit cards accepted are "Visa, MasterCard, and Discover" they don't accept other types of credit cards.

If you make an online payment using your credit card, you don't need to send Form 900.

ok so far so good

i didnt understand this sentence from there an also from here

this from OASIS

You can use on-line payments to pay an amount that you owe to ECFMG for past services or to pay in advance for future service requests, such as exam applications and requests for USMLE transcripts. If you pay in advance, remember that you must still complete the appropriate application/request form.
what is the past services and what is the future services?

and can you explain whether the services here is past or future
1-pay the money there then when it is enough apply for examination
2-apply for the examination and reach the payment step then start put money in the oasis account then pay

the point is i dont know what they mean with " If you pay in advance, remember that you must still complete the appropriate application/request form" so that means for future services i have to sen form 900 right

i already made an application and reaching the payment step
so is that considered advanced payment if i pay there right now or not?

can you explain more in this part

thanks

If you make advanced payment, it means you paid before applying to the exam. Therefore, they are reminding to go and apply to the exam after you pay.

Usually they don't allow you to print Form 186 and they don't allow you to finish the online-part without paying them.
So I think you did not finish the application yet (if you are still hung up at the payment step).

Simply put:
  • if you pay during the online application .. this is not advanced payment.
  • if you pay before you apply for the exam (by following the procedure I outlined for you in my previous post) .. this is considered advanced payment.

Do you have an idea about the duration we can deposit the money ? I mean if i plan to take Step 1 by the end this year and Step 2 next year, is it possible that i deposit the money now for both the Step 1 and 2 and use it when i take Step 2 next year ?

Here I quote for you an excerpt from the ECFMG Booklet
Forfeiture of Funds

Effective July 1, 2010, funds in an applicant's ECFMG financial account will be available for a period of two years to pay for exams/requested services. Any funds not used during a two-year period will be forfeited to ECFMG; this means that the applicant will lose those funds. The two-year period is calculated from the date that funds are received at ECFMG. For funds already in an applicant's account on the July 1, 2010 effective date, the two-year period is calculated from this effective date. If an applicant has funds in his/her account and applies for an exam/requests a service, ECFMG will use the funds with the earliest receipt date to pay for the exam/requested service.

I want to add money in divided transactions to my usmle account in order to reach the required amount of money needed for application.
If I use master card for advance payment to my account, do I still need to send form 900 to ecfmg?
I didn't understand about transferring money through form 900.
Urgent please!
Any help will be appreciated.
