theoph. blocks adenosine receptors so causing bronchodilation and may cause arrythmia while adenosine is antiarrythmic

yup theophylline is adenosine receptor antagonist

theophylline causes bronchodilation so used in the treatment of asthma , emphysema and chronic bronchitis

it causes ventricular arrythmias where as adenosine is antiarrythmic

Both have opposite effects on same Rc.
Adenosine treats arrhythmias but coz asthma.
Theophylline treats asthma but coz arrhythmias.
