I Love Vermont

For Amino Acids there are two important mnemonics for Step 1

First:
VOMIT which stands for Valine, Odd carbon fatty acids, Methionine, Isoleucine, and Threonine. They are all metabolized by Propionic acid pathway

Second:
I Love Vermont Maple Syrup
[Isoleucine Leucine Valine] metabolism blocked in Maple Syrup disease

You may also want to remember
Leucine and Lysine are the only ketogenic
and that all the Ts [tryptophan, tyrosin, threonine] + Phenylalanine & Isoleucine are ketogenic and glugogenic while all others are glucogenic only :D
((What if we use TIP for kerogenic and glucogenic amino acids stands for (T, For all ts tyrosine, tryptophane, threonine. And I, for isoleucine and P, for phenyl alanine .
