The cause of bleeding variceal veins in a chronic alcoholic is indirect shunting of blood to the superior vena cave via which of the following veins?

A- Hepatic
B- Splenic
C- Left gastric
D- Superior mesenteric
E- Right gastroepiploic

i think its 'gastric vein'.. gastric vein is a direct branch of portal vein.it drains the abdominal esophagus. anatomizes with the esophageal vein(supplies thoracic esophagus) which further drains into azygos vein which drains into SVC.
