Honest Response

Hello dear friend, I am sorry to hear that you did not achieve the scores you desired. No one has replied to his tread so I´ll give you my humble opinion. Since I started my preparation I have always had a plan B, in case I failed along the way, it was not because I am pessimistic but because a like to be prepared. I think that in this point it is up to you to decide if it is worth the time and money to keep going... Be objective, analyze the latest MATCH statistics and you will get an idea of how much chance you have to match in your desired residency. I think that you should really start looking into other options too, even if you do your residency in another country it is your dedication and desire to be great that will make you a good doctor anywhere in the world. Cheer up, I have always believed that things happen for a reason. ;)

I agree with saul. Always think of a back-up plan. You still can pursue if you want. There's no harm in trying. You wouldn't really know if you can get matched. There are some things you still can do to increase your chances.

But always be prepared for heartbreak. Your scores are relatively lower than your competitors. So objectively speaking, you will definitely have low chances. Now as yourself... "Is it still worth the risk?"

Things do happen for a reason. And it depends on you on how would you look at your situation. Will you use this to strive harder on getting observerships, LORs, research publication and US Visa? Or would you take this as a sign trying another avenue.

I myself is also preparing. So I really cannot give you definitive advice. You will have to weigh your options yourself...

Thank you for your response and kind words guys... I was scared ppl were gonna start telling me off and call me stupid... Honestly I kept telling myself if I focus only on plan A I won't need a plan b ... All that **** about if you want something really bad you will get it... Quite a harsh wake up call this was... I guess everything happens for a reason... I just wish I knew what that reason was... I still don know whether to let go or keep holding on... But thanks for your advice... Hope you all do well in your exams...
