I have an important question :
i will have my last step exam which will be step 2 ck in 3 may 2011
and i will travel to usa in july 2011

will i be able to take step 3 exam in july 2011

and as i am from egypt how can i reduce the time as possible as the ecfmg certificate may take long time to be arrived.

i am verified in ecfmg so no delay in the process.and can i apply for step 3 before my result for step 2 ck appears and when i am asked to enter the date of issue i will say june 2011 or this cannot be done.

plz from your experience what should i do?

Tp be elligible for step 3 you need to be ECFMG certified and for that you obviously need your usmle score so you cant apply for your step 3 before your step 2 CK score.

Dr. Sidd is right. You cannot apply for Step 3 until your are ECFMG certified. It's ok, if the certificate didnt arrive yet, but you must be certified.

If you are not, and you apply, your application will be rejected or incomplete and they will not refund either. They will hold a portion of the funds or something to that fact. I'm not sure of the details, but definitely it is in your best interest financially to wait until you have passed.

But I dont see your rush. If you are taking your last step in May, you will know your results by June and you can apply then. In the meantime keep studying and when you get your permit you can schedule a date quite possible in july itself

i am hurry because i am seeking fellowship not residency and i want to secure a place in july 2012, do u think if it is possible in radiology to contact acgme programs only 1 year earlier ?

If i am not mistaken, fellowship match has different dates than residency. I am sure you know all this as you are applying for fellowship.

Fellowship requires you to apply a year ahead just like residency. Just the dates of the match is different. That is all. You will be fine, don't worry. Best of luck!!!
