What is the mechanism underlying chemoattraction and adhesion?
Do ICAM and VCAM on the surfaces of endothelial cells attach to integrins on leukocytes (e.g. LFA-1 and Mac-1). What roles do IL1, TNF, LTB4 and C5a
play in activating leukocyte adhesion molecules? That is do the latter two activate other adhesion molecules as well, while attaching themselves unto bacterial antigens?
Thanks so much in advance!
