It is all about timing your exams to get results in time for residency applications. Other than that, there is really no difference. Despite common myths, the test is the same for all applicants, whether you are an AMG or IMG. Also, you "compete" against the test NOT other applicants. What may be harder during this period is scheduling, especially if you are in the US, because it's around the same time US med students do Step 1. But if you schedule well in advance, there ia no problem with that either.hello guys, any idea about why is not convenient for IMG to take the step 1 exam by the period (june-jully-august) ....any explanation will be important...thank you in advance!
